Talent of Masters Part Two

Now on to the work of the dress.

I started with the bodice of the dress and this is the final outcome of the bodice.
Next was the skirt which was a very easy sew. The skirt was two parts sewn together instead of many like a bodice.

Here we have the bodice and skirt sewn together to make the complete dress.
Last is the embellishment which is a simple yellow polka dotted fabric with a fabric flower in the middle that I had made just before sewing on with the yellow polka dot fabric and a light see though fabric.

Talent of Masters Part One

For Talent of the masters I made a Bride's maid dress, a very simple one for spring at that.
For this post I'm going over patterns, which I used to make the dress.

First we have pattern packets and what can be found inside them.

This is a skirt pattern, yet it shows you what a pattern will look like. The lines are for measurements and where it is to line up on the fabric.
With patterns they com in parts and in the pattern books are instructions on how to put the bodice, skirt or what ever it is that you are working on.  They have pictures and go in order of numbers. The directions are broken into the different parts of design, like I used D for the bodice, and this is only if the packet comes with more then one design on it.
